A recent monthly survey conducted by CFIB has found that 47% of small Canadian Business reports shortage of skilled labour. CFIB (Canadian Federation of Independent Business) states that there is a hike of just 10% as compared to that of survey taken in January 2018 and 20% increment in comparison to that of survey taken in January 2016.
CFIB states that many employers are forcing themselves to limit their hiring plans due to the shortage.
The results were based on feedbacks from 655 randomly selected federation members.
It was found that, the highest shortage in skilled labour was reported by the industries of Construction, transportation, Personal Services and Natural Resources and mainly in the provinces of British Columbia, Quebec and Ontario.
